Course Outline:

• Objective: Help students aged 14-17 yrs create a well-rounded art portfolio tailored for college and university applications.

• Duration: Four weeks, with one session per week. Can continue ongoing in future terms.

• Materials Provided: All art supplies needed for the course. Students asked to provide tablet for digital art if this is something they wish to use.

• Focus Areas: Developing skills, exploring creativity, and building a portfolio that showcases a range of techniques and concepts.

Example Mediums:

• Drawing and Sketching: Pencils, charcoal, and fine liners to develop observational and technical drawing skills.

• Painting: Acrylics, watercolours, and gouache to experiment with colour and composition.

• Printmaking: Linocut or monoprinting to explore texture and layering techniques.

• Mixed Media: Collage and layering using paper, textiles, or found materials.

• Digital Art: Optional, using tablets or laptops if students wish to include digital work in their portfolio.
