After receiving your application, we’ll review it and contact shortlisted candidates for an initial interview. We prioritise transparency and keep you informed at every stage.

My HELM Interview Process

Though we endeavour to reply to all applicants for jobs, due to the high number of CV’s received, we sometimes only reach out to applicants invited to interview. If you are invited, the full interview process is as follows:

 

  1. Telephone interview with My HELM founder and Managing Director Laura Foster. Approx time 30-45 mins
  2. In-person interview with Laura Foster and Tutor Manager Greg Marshall. Approx time 1.5 hours
  3. Observation of workshop/tutoring session and rough workshop term ideas pitch. Approx time 1.5 hours
  4. Delivery of sample workshop/tutoring session. Approx time 1.5 hours
 

Successful applicants will be notified via email.

All of our positions are for freelance, self-employed roles. You will need to provide a unique tax reference (UTR). You will be responsible for your own taxes.

We require two work references for all positions. Volunteer roles may provide educational references in the place of work references if required.

All positions require a DBS check. We can provide a DBS check for applicants who haven’t their own upon job acceptance. Staff leaving within or just after the first two months will be required to reimburse the DBS costs at the rate of: 100% if leaving within or immediately after the first month and 50% if leaving within or immediately after the second month
